Dr. Michelle Julian is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Professor for the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing. Dr. Julian received her undergraduate nursing degree from Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing in 2006, her MSN in Nursing Education from Research College of Nursing in 2008, and her Ph.D. in Nursing Education from Capella University in 2018. She has certifications in Pain Management from the University of Kansas Medical Center and Emerging Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Julian has 17 years of experience in nursing and 15 years in nursing academia. She has extensive knowledge in the arena of curriculum development and revision, with a focus on informatics. Dr. Julian has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and served on advisory boards for other institutions and nursing education vendors. She has presented at local and national conventions, including ATI’s National Nurse Educator Summit in California. Dr. Julian has served on the board of several local chapters of Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society, as a Counselor and Secretary, and is currently serving as Vice President for the Upsilon Chi Chapter.

Dr. Julian has a research interest in healthcare informatics, with a focus on nursing education. She strives to not only ensure nurses are educated properly to function successfully in the ever-changing world of healthcare technology but also to inspire others to do the same. Other research interests include complementary and alternative medicine, pain management, and older adults.
