Our Conference Planning Committee convenes member representatives to plan all aspects of Nursing Consortium of Florida conferences which are held twice a year in the Spring or early Summer and in the Fall or early Winter. These volunteers are collectively responsible for theme selection and development, identifying and securing speakers, selecting venues, assisting with the procurement of program sponsorships, promoting abstract submission, reviewing abstracts, and promoting conference registration. Each conference attracts nationally renowned speakers and 500 or more nurse attendees employed in practice and academic settings from entry-level positions through executive leadership.
Restricted hospital and school budgets limit the number of nurses able to travel to national conferences which are tailored to hospital nurses specialized in a specific field of practice, i.e. emergency, critical care, surgery, or to nurses employed in academia. Nursing Consortium of Florida conferences feature national and regional experts and programming that is attractive to nurses regardless of practice focus, specialization, or role, and provide for a sharing of best practices and innovations including those involving practice-academia collaboration, they afford excellent opportunities to showcase through podium and poster presentations promising programs, research, scholarly projects, and process improvement exemplars that address the physical, psychological, environmental, financial, and emotional challenges to making advancements related to a conference theme, facilitate peer networking that makes greater idea sharing possible, and provide equipment and service vendors an extraordinary opportunity to engage existing and prospective nurse leader clients, and nurse attendees regarding their needs.
The Nursing Consortium of Florida organizes and offers affordable, yet high-quality conference experiences that celebrate nursing and bring forth the best of nurse innovations and best practices on a given theme, while inspiring and informing nurses with examples of how to improve their practice. These conferences attract a large number of hospital chief nursing officers, school of nursing deans, and other nurse leaders including directors, department heads, unit managers, and senior faculty making them high-value investment opportunities for vendor representatives.
The Nursing Consortium of Florida is nursing’s community table where the profession’s leaders build on a long legacy of uncommon collaboration, to conduct effective youth outreach and develop and evolve programming that promotes careers in nursing.
